Minors and parents

Zusio is intended for people aged 13 and over.

Minimum age 13

Zusio applies a minimum age of 13. People under 13 may not create or keep an account. The date of birth and an age confirmation are checked during onboarding. Countries requiring parental authorisation, a higher age or stronger age assurance remain excluded until those requirements are implemented.

Different legal questions

Article 8 GDPR sets 16 as the default threshold for consent-based information-society services offered directly to children and allows Member States to lower it to 13. Austria uses 14 for that specific consent question. These thresholds are not a general age of access and do not replace contract capacity, youth, consumer or safety law. Any required consent or authority of a legal representative must be obtained and assessed separately. The App Store age rating is also a separate assessment.

Protection of 13- to 17-year-olds

Users aged 13 to 17 receive the same report, block and help routes. Public profiles, meetups, locations and contact with unknown people can create particular risks. Safe settings, clear explanations and the documented child-risk and DPIA screening must be reviewed before the service is released to these age groups in each market. Profiling-based advertising is not intended.

Parents and young people

Safety concerns can be reported regardless of age. A parent’s request does not automatically permit unrestricted access to a young person’s private data; identity, authority and the young person’s rights must be assessed.
